On October 13, Plovdiv residents and their guests witnessed great battles in "Kolodrum Plovdiv". More than 320 contestants from 29 teams from Bulgaria, Greece and Serbia took part in the first taekwondo tournament "Plovdiv Open".
The organizers of Taekwondo Academy Plovdiv and the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation VT did not spare any effort to organize this event for the second time in the city. High level of judging, fair play and discipline between competitors and coaches reigned throughout the day. There were great battles and the audience did not leave indifferent to their favourite sportsmen, whose skills repeatedly caused appalling applause.
BTP President Slavi Binev congratulated all contestants and coaches for the demonstrated skills and behavior and wished Plovdiv to continue to develop taekwondo with even greater ambition.
Kazanlak's "Extreme" won the prize place for adolescents and girls. The Gladiators of Dupnitsa were the first in the cadets, and the Kondor 2000 in the children category. In the lower class B, children and cadets of "Extreme" Kazanlak were greeted with success.
The organization of the competition was very appreciated by the guests from abroad, for which this year Plovdiv became a regular taekwondo destination after the European Games held earlier here.
