360 students from the Medical University of Plovdiv took the Hippocratic Oath at a solemn ceremony in the "Kolodrum" hall on December 10 at 3 p.m. 161 of them are Bulgarian students, and 199 are graduates who are studying in English. The foreign graduates are from 25 countries, with the most from Great Britain, followed by Greece, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Lebanon, Morocco, Cyprus, India, Nigeria, Sweden and Switzerland.
34 of the masters graduated with a grade point average above 5.50. The top student of the class is Zdravko Ivanov, who achieved 6.00 in the state exams, and his grade point average from the studies is 5.94.
The average grade of the 74th class of the Faculty of Medicine is Very Good 4.72 from the study and 4.87 from the state exams. Prof. Dr. Penka Stefanova – a leading specialist in pediatric surgery and a favorite teacher – was chosen as the promoter to proclaim the graduates as doctors.
At the ceremony, students were honored for their sporting achievements. The Faculty of Medicine “Prometheus” award was also presented for social engagement and support of public causes during their studies.
