The event is being held at the initiative of the city's mayor, Kostadin Dimitrov, and will take place on October 17, 2026, at the Kolodrum Hall, starting at 10:00 AM.
This year, the competition promises to be even more engaging and dynamic. Many of the challenges are inspired by the popular TV show "Games of Will" (*Igri na Volyata*), requiring participants to demonstrate strength, speed, endurance, coordination, and teamwork skills.
Educational institutions from the city of Plovdiv are eligible to participate, with the exception of the "Vasil Levski" Sports School. Each school may register one team comprising students from two age groups:
Group I: students in grades 7 through 9 – 8 participants (4 boys and 4 girls);
Group II: students in grades 10 through 12 – 8 participants (4 boys and 4 girls).
The results from both groups will be combined into a total time, which will determine the schools' final rankings.
The competition will consist of relay-style games featuring a variety of challenges, including functional strength and track-and-field exercises, as well as a special team puzzle.
Detailed instructions regarding the new exercises, along with photos and videos to aid in preparation, will be sent to the schools that have confirmed their participation one week prior to the event. On the day of the competition, one hour before the start, the rules will be explained and the exercises demonstrated so that all participants can familiarize themselves with the challenges.
This year, too, the top-performing teams will receive awards—trophies, medals, certificates, attractive prizes, and vouchers.
The participation of every school is crucial to the success of the initiative and to encouraging even more children to embrace sports, physical activity, and a healthy lifestyle.
The deadline for registration is October 9, 2026, at 5:00 PM; please submit entries via email to: direkcia_smd@plovdiv.bg
